I'm happy about it. Assault rifles shouldn't be the best, they should be sub par to other specialized weapons. I'm happy to see them needed for the sake of other weapons. |

I was talking about all assault rifles not just the plasma rifle. The at is still fine, I do well with it all the time, I just hate using gallente tech. A few days ago I went 17-4 in a std min logi and a gek. I am under the impression that people moaning about it are still pining for the plasma rifle king days and haven't adapted or learned how to use it. |

It was my favorite weapon, prof 5 AR. My current suit uses a level 1 rail rifle and it out classes my prof 5 gek. And I use my RR just how I use my AR cqc hip firing.
Same here, used it since beta and have prof 5. I beat RR's with my gek in a std suit. Not proto RRs but hey I'm in a std suit. I don't have much of a problem when I use it, but I mostly use RR because I love the caldari.

The AR is not being used by anyone in the past months due to OP RR and CR, now, with 1,8 nerf it will be even more useless, the tweaks should have affected OP weapons only. This is another mistake made by CCP and people like you are supporting this insane changes. Where did I come from? Been playing since beta, and yes I've got quite a good consecutive streak right now. The ar is fine, I do well with it whenever I use it. I hope all the assault rifles are less effective, because they shouldn't be the go to weapons. Grunts are grunts, specialized weapons should be better than assault rifles.
I can see that the av nades might be an issue, though people like you are bringing it up like children. If you want CCP to listen to you seriously don't insult them or yell in their face, try and be an adult about it.
I like what they did with rifles and their prof skills. Personally I think it will make the use of rifles much more skill full on the players part and will lead to some interesting fits. I think the changes will balance out rifles and give them roles, as well as encourage the use of aide arms. I also like the "grenade Nerf" (even though grenade stats are staying as they are) because there probably won't be as much grenade spam.
Of course I'm waiting for the release to see if this will play out as mentioned above, as are we all. Off of what they have given us this seems like the best patch yet. |

Again I wasn't talking about the plasma rifle I was talking about assault rifles in general. It is effective at short range, I get killed by them all the time. I take assault rifles very seriously as a caldari. They do more damage against my shields, that's a threat to me. In close range I'm not as effective with my RR, especially if they break LOS and make me charge my rifle. The at is still very much viable in 1.7, I know, I have prof 5. It shouldn't be a jack of all trades weapon, its an assault rifle.

It shouldn't be a jack of all trades weapon, its an assault rifle. plasma rifles- one of the guns used by the amarr (i do believe in the book, Templar One) assault rifle- the gun this topic is about. the gallentean racial rifle. please clarify next time if you are talking about all assault-variant rifles, say so.
Not everyone has read Templar one. There are four racial assault rifles I am clarifying, the gallente rifle uses plasma, ergo plasma rifle, I could call it a blaster rifle if your really that offended. But when I say assault rifles shouldn't be the go to weapons I mean all assault rifles. |
